2016 | Genocide memorial stupa at Wat Samrong Knong just outside Battambang, Cambodia. Between 1975 and 1979, 10.000 people were killed in this location by the Khmer Rouge. The Khmer Rouge are responsible for the deaths of up to 2 million Cambodians, nearly a quarter of the country’s then population.
